- Using design modeling software, including REVIT and AutoCAD, to produce constructible 2D and 3D models of electrical system components such as switch gear, cable tray, conduit, panel boards, control panels, and lighting with an understanding of how these systems are installed in the field.
- Prepare construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts according to specs, sketches, and rough drafts.
- Coordinate with other design professionals and the build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws or issues, achieving reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detention.
- Develop detailed dimensioned installation drawings to improve the efficiency of field electricians.
- Perform surveying when required to document existing conditions.
- Create prefab drawings, details and BOMs for fabrication.
- Perform fundamental engineering functions: lighting & power design, single line designs, panel schedules, load calculations, organizing details of construction drawings and responding to construction administration items as they arise.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in a consulting or construction environment.
- Experience and proficiency using Revit, Navisworks, AEC, ACC, Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code and local electrical building codes.
- Experience using Evolve software is a plus.
- Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and through writing in a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment, multiple demands and managing priorities with high detail and organizational skills.
- Occasional travel will be required.
