GOAL:
Provide training and support to LEA's who are participating in the LIFT (Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas) grant through professional learning, onsite coaching, and technical assistance to administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Certification:
- Current Teacher Certification
- Master's Degree preferred
- Principal Certification preferred
- Special Knowledge/
Skills:- Oral and written communication for the educational community
- Customer Service Skills
- Technology skills needed to complete job requirements
- Experience:
- Campus or district leadership experience preferred
- Experience coaching administrators or teachers preferred
- Utilization or support of high-quality instructional materials
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
Program Planning/Organizational Skills
- Provide support to LEA's in planning for and implementation of high-quality instructional materials.
- Plan and organize content-specific professional learning sessions for administrators, instructional coaches and teachers to facilitate successful implementation of high-quality instructional materials.
- Model effective instructional practices for teachers and administrators
- Provide technical assistance and coaching for district and campus leaders to establish the organizational systems necessary for success
Fiscal Management
- Maintain documentation to support use of funds and demonstrate compliance with grant parameters as authorized by the Director.
- Utilize cost-effective methods of reaching identified objectives
Leadership
- Demonstrate leadership in the development of innovative practices to improve student achievement
- Model initiative and resourcefulness in interactions with LEA and ESC staff
- Provide coaching and implementation support to district and campus leaders
Communications Skills
- Demonstrate communication skills through established channels to keep districts and ESC staff informed of objectives/activities
- Effectively communicate ideas and information to groups or individuals
Consultative and Technical Assistance
- Demonstrate accessibility by making regular campus visits
- Provide ongoing support to district and campus administrators
- Disseminate information on instructional practices and resources to improve student performance
- Plan and conduct professional learning opportunities for administrators and teachers.
Human Relations
- Demonstrate professional courtesy during personal interaction with LEA and ESC staff
- Display an attitude of personal and professional concern in group and individual settings
- Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with other staff members.
Personal and Professional Image
- Maintain self-control and good working relations with ESC staff and district personnel when facing problems and frustrations
- Exhibit enthusiasm, self-motivation, and professional appearance while fulfilling job assignment requirements
- Adhere to work schedules and attendance policies
