Job DescriptionThis position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and /or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.
Essential Functions- Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
- Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned
- Educational requirements vary based on the training need.
- Three to five years of professional experience in medical coding, billing, health information, or revenue cycle management
- Deliver instruction in health information, medical billing, and medical coding topics, including: ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding, Revenue cycle management, Insurance claims processing and denial management, HIPAA compliance, Healthcare documentation and auditing, Specialty coding (e.g., cardiology, family medicine, internal medicine), as applicable
- Prepare and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and hands‑on activities
- Support students in exam preparation and workforce readiness
- Track student attendance, progress, and completion per program and grant requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding updates, and industry changes
- Collaborate with program staff on curriculum updates, scheduling, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and workforce grant requirements (when applicable)
- This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
