Steel Erection Superintendent
Location: Abilene, TX
Pay: $38-$40 per hour
Duration: 2-Year Project
We are seeking an experienced Steel Erection Superintendent to oversee field operations on a long-term steel erection project in Abilene, Texas. This position offers steady work for the duration of the project and competitive hourly pay.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all field activities related to steel erection
- Supervise crews, foremen, and crane operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety requirements
- Plan and coordinate erection sequencing, crane picks, and manpower
- Review and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and lift plans
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety standards
- Coordinate with project management and other trades
- Track progress, productivity, and field issues
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising steel erection work
- Strong understanding of structural steel erection, rigging, and crane operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- OSHA 30 preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to commit to the full 2-year project
- $38-$40 per hour, depending on experience
