We are looking for a Sr. Safety Manager to join our team to support projects in our Industrial and Building markets. In this role, you will be , tresponsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of all safety programs for projects that are typically greater than $500M in scope, and your initial project will be valued at over 1 Billion in scope.
We are looking for a strong leader, with experience managing safety for large, complex construction projects with many stakeholders, and large teams. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong safety record on prior projects, extensive knowledge of safety regulations, and a proactive approach to risk management in the construction industry, particularly in the vertical building and industrial construction market.

LocationThis is a full time role with Kiewit, initially supporting a large project in Abilene Texas for 3 years. We offer relocation or per diem, with paid trips home.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy aligned with project and company goals.
- Managing the project environmental health and safety programs, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
- Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level; recommending process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
- Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed
- Developing environmental health and safety training materials to include manuals, brochures, PowerPoint presentations etc.
- Developing a paperwork management system to track training records to track all safety training initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors.
- Interpreting safety regulations for the project.
- Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and repertory.
- Interfacing with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit.
