Safety Coordinator
FLSA Status:
Hourly Non-exempt position
Benefits eligibility: 60 days after hire date
Full Time
Reports to:
Safety Director
Assist the Safety Director in keeping J. Irwin Company employees safe through training and safety inspections. Maintain the company’s compliance with Federal and State laws as well as in regulation with the company’s clients.
Job Duties:- Employee Training
- Teach the following courses to all affected employees as requested by Safety Director- OSHA 10+30 Hour
- PEC Basic Orientation
- Veriforce Evaluator
- CPR
- First Aid
- Aerial Lift and Forklift Trainer
- Rigger and Signal Person Trainer
- Hydrogen Sulfide Training
- Regulatory Training
- Job Site safety inspections for all three companies
- PPE Hazard Assessments and Job Site Evaluations
- Answer and coordinate safety questionnaire for potential clients and meetings
- Conduct Monthly safety meetings in all areas
- Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing
- Oversee TRC Program through Unifirst
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience required. General field experience and knowledge of natural gas pipeline construction or construction work.
CertificationsRequired:
- OSHA 30 Hour Course in Construction Safety
- CPR and First Aid Certified Instructor
- SAPAA Certified Collector
- PEC Orientation

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the office and can be extreme on the jobsite.
Work hours are generally a regular work week of 40 hours; however, exact hours to work each day may vary as required.
