Safety Specialist - TIC Industrial

Position Overview

We’re currently looking for a Safety Specialist who will create, support and audit safety programs that reinforce our commitment to safety. The role reports to the Project Safety Manager and focuses on the successful implementation and support of the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field.

This position will be based at one of our project sites across the United States, such as Abilene, TX;
El Paso, TX; or elsewhere. Candidates must be open to relocating as needed.

• Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all stakeholders, including subcontractors.
• Collaborate daily with field craft to encourage buy‑in of the safety program and support craft ownership of safety responsibilities.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, work plans, and detailed work packs.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem‑solve with operations in the field each day based on leading indicator trends and upcoming work.
• Encourage, support, inspire, and advise staff and craft employees to execute the SSSP.
• Assist with maintaining project files in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies, including accident and injury files.
• Maintain relationships with emergency medical services and clinics; assist with first aid as needed.
• Assist with incident investigations and implement effective solutions.
• Complete a daily documented hazard inspection and help operations, craft, and subcontractors implement corrective actions.
• Review work plans and detailed work packs before the start of work.
• Provide safety training on policies, procedures, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client specific requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and OSHA requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification and Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred.
• 0‑2 years of construction safety experience.
• Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to access all parts of a construction site in a wide range of climates and environments.

• Perform work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment use, and policies.
