Main PurposeWe are seeking a proactive APAC Distributor Manager to support and develop our distribution network across the Asia-Pacific region. The APAC distributor manager will focus on ABER Instruments sensor technologies in the Bioprocessing and Brewing markets and will maximise awareness and market penetration in the region. This role will be critical in improving sales, managing distributor relationships, and developing regional market strategies, especially in the rapidly evolving bioprocessing sector.
This role will work cross-functionally with teams based in Aberystwyth, UK, to ensure commercial success and customer satisfaction across the territory.
The successful candidate will be based within easy access to a major international airport, either in the UK, Singapore, South Korea or South East Asia.
Duties to Include- Promote ABER’s product portfolio to drive customer adoption in the APAC market
- Build and manage the sales pipeline, maintain leads in CRM and ensure accurate forecasting
- Prospecting and lead-handling to identify new business opportunities
- Effectively support and manage ABER distributors in the region
- Deliver sales presentations, demos and proposals to customers
- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage post-sales relationships
- Participate in marketing activities to grow market awareness of ABER Technology
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement go-to-market plans, including pricing, positioning, and marketing strategy
- Regular travel to the APAC region with a focus on Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and China.
- Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, cell biology, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical or commercial roles in the bioprocessing, biotechnology or brewing industries.
- Proven track record in distributor/channel management within the APAC region.
- Strong understanding of the bioprocessing workflow and customer base (e.g., biopharma, CDMOs, research institutions) or the brewing process and customer base (National breweries, especially).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experienced with CRM systems for customer management and accurate forecasting
- Business-level fluency in English is essential; proficiency in one or more relevant languages (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) is highly desirable.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally 30-35% of the time.
- Valid driving licence.
- Phd in biotechnology or cell biology.
- Relevant customer or distributor network
- Previous experience or knowledge of employee ownership
