Job Summary
The Acute Oncology Nursing Service is an established service within Hywel Dda University Health Board. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the current team, providing expert clinical skills to review patients admitted with complications of anti-cancer treatment, complications of malignancy, or new diagnosis of malignancy during an emergency admission. The post will also support delivery of the Health Board's Cancer Treatment Triage line.
This role is based at Bronglais General Hospital.
The post holder will be a key member of the Health Board with opportunities to demonstrate leadership, innovation, negotiation and teaching. They will be able to work under pressure, face challenges, be well organised and enthusiastic, possess good IT and communication skills, and work effectively as part of a Multidisciplinary Team. The role provides specialist oncology nursing advice, guidance, support and leadership.
Work autonomously and manage own workload. Provide specialist education and training to staff. The main focus is to support the care of inpatients, providing specialist oncology advice during admissions. There will be occasional shifts to support the Health Board Cancer Treatment Triage Line; this is a seven-day post including weekend shifts pro rata. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable though English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.
