Penrhyncoch Primary School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant – Level 1 (Behaviour/Guidance/Support) to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who need extra support to succeed.
As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
- Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, and welfare matters.
- Help implement and review Individual Education and Behaviour Plans, and Personal Care programmes.
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour across the school.
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and school activities such as trips and out‑of‑class events.
- Work closely with teachers to support learning and manage pupil behaviour effectively.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with or caring for children of relevant age.
- Holds good literacy and numeracy skills, and is willing to complete the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme.
- Can use basic ICT to support learning and classroom activities.
- Is flexible, positive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion, and teamwork.
- Has appropriate knowledge of first aid and is comfortable supporting pupils’ Providers personal needs.
