I am seeking a Personal Assistant with a desire to make a positive impact in someone's life. I am 56 years old and recovering from a stroke, and I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support and assist me to regain my place in the community and overcome the barriers ongoing recovery presents. I am quiet and friendly. I can tire easily.
On occasion steering of an electric wheelchair may be required. If you're passionate about helping others thrive and succeed, this role could be perfect for you. As a Personal Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in empowering me to navigate daily life with confidence and independence. (And have some fun along the way.)
- Support me to manage some simple meal preparation in my home.
- Provide hands‑on support and encourage me with activities of interest, including robotics and restoring retro computers.
- Support me to access the local community, including visiting a woodland.
- Support me with light household tasks.
- Support me with arranging and attending appointments, including regular Monday exercise classes.
- Support me to regain some independence both at home and in the community.
- Provide stimulating conversation.
- Keep accurate timesheets and records of tasks completed.
- Any other reasonable duties requested from time to time.
- Proactive individuals with local knowledge, willing to assist with my interest in restoring computers, gaming and robotics.
- Comfortable in the company of cats.
- A good sense of humour.
- Caring, Honest, Responsible and above all patient.
- Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
- Reliable with good time keeping.
- Able to use own initiative and be self‑motivated.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
- An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in computers, gaming and robotics would be useful.
Enhanced DBS check required; no cost to applicant.
You must be eligible to work in the UK; the employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4‑weekly basis; a valid National Insurance number is required.
Trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
