Job OverviewThe post holder will help in the smooth operation of the administrative aspects of the Ophthalmology theatre by relieving professional staff of clerical and administrative duties in which the post holder will play an integral part.
Main duties of the jobThe Ward Clerk will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the Regional Ophthalmology service by providing efficient and professional administrative services. The responsibilities of the Ward Clerk include preparing and maintaining patient case notes, managing cancellations and ensuring data entry on relevant systems.
Hours of work are 9:30 am – 5:30 pm with the expectation to cover 7:30 am – 3:30 pm to cover colleague absence.

- Previous clerical experience or similar
- Previous Medical Records experience or knowledge of the hospital's patient administration system
- Good General Education
- Computer Literate
- Proficient in software packages, including Word, Excel.
