Join Marcliffe pastry team and play a key role in one of Scotland’s most prestigious 5-star hotel kitchens. You’ll work as part of a close-knit, high-performing culinary team, producing refined desserts, pastries, breads, and afternoon teas for fine dining, events, and daily service — all delivered to the highest standard.
This role reports to the Pastry Head Chef.

Aboutthe Role
As a Pastry Chef, you will:
Prepare and present breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and afternoon tea items to fine-dining standards
Support menu development with ideas for seasonal and creative pastry offerings
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and wider kitchen team
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation across all pastry areas
Ensure mise en place is well organised and service runs smoothly
Monitor stock levels, support ordering, and minimise waste through effective rotation
Keep pastry sections clean, organised, and fully compliant with food safety regulations
Support and guide junior kitchen team members where required
Adapt to a variety of service styles, including à la carte dining, afternoon tea, weddings, and large-scale events
Contribute to a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork, professionalism, and high standards
Experience working in pastry within a quality-led kitchen, ideally in a fine-dining or 5-star hotel environment
Passion for pastry, baking, and creating exceptional guest experiences
Creative with strong attention to detail and presentation
Well organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure
A positive, proactive team player with good communication skills
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP
Relevant culinary qualification preferred
£34,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)
