Kittybrewster Complex, Aberdeen

Permanent, Full Time

Where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership, only for roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay the PVG membership cost initially, and the cost will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.

The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots. To carry out fleet and public vehicle annual testing (MOT) and conduct taxi hackney examinations. The holder must be able to work on their own initiative and communicate effectively with the management team and customers.

Weekly rota shift pattern. Week 1:
Monday‑Thursday 6am‑2pm, Friday 6am‑11:30am. Week 2:
Monday‑Thursday 2pm‑10pm, Friday 11:30am‑5pm.

• City and Guilds – Motor Vehicle Engineering (3905) or equivalent qualification
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Preferably hold a MOT examiner certification or obtain it within 12 months

• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
