Mechanic, Maintenance​/Cleaning

Job Purpose:

Please note that with effect from 1 April , where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30, and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30, per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintaining and repairs on
vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops
and depots. To have the ability to work on their own initiative and to
communicate effectively with Management team and customers.

Weekly rota shift pattern. Week 1:
Monday-Thursday 6am - 2pm, Friday 6am-11:30pm Week 2:
Monday-Thursday 14:00pm - 22:00pm Friday 11:30am-17:00pm

• City and Guilds, SVQ construction – Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
