Position Description

At CGI, our Senior Control Systems IT Security Consultants are trusted to work closely with a wide range of clients on exciting projects with real‑world purpose and impact. You’ll join a collaborative team working in an Industrial Automated Control Systems (IACS) IT Security environment in Aberdeen, UK that has the daily operational responsibility for ensuring appropriate and secure management and use of the IT systems and applications in a process control environment.

Operations shall be performed in compliance with the IT Security standards and applicable legislation. Your

future duties and responsibilities
  • Monitor security alerts from the SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management) and investigate suspected security incidents to make recommendations for containment and eradication.
  • As part of the SOC team, monitor security alerts, determine severity, impacts, and participate in security incident investigations and recommendations.
  • Ensure that IT systems, applications, and communication equipment within the process control environment are managed and maintained.
  • Provide technical support in a Control Systems environment.
  • Ensure run & maintain support issues are dealt with effectively.
  • Ensure run and maintain support work follows the compliant procedures.
  • Produce and maintain key documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with wider global support team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
  • Network (CCNA or equivalent) and Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certification required.
  • Windows Desktop & Server (Active Directory) experience.
  • Experience with OS patching and the following technologies/platforms: UNIX, NT, LAN/WAN, and system management tools.
  • Experience with the following backup and recovery technologies:
    Acronis B&R, Symantec B&R.
  • In‑depth understanding of network security, firewall configuration, and Cisco systems.
  • Knowledge of VMware/Citrix and TCP/IP, including packet‑level analysis.
  • Leadership experience with a hands‑on approach.
