AboutThe Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join BSI in a brand-new role dedicated to shaping our global mobility and immigration strategy. As our Immigration & Global Mobility Specialist, you will be the driving force behind ensuring compliance with international laws while delivering a seamless, consistent experience for our employees relocating across borders or holding visas.
You will act as a strategic partner to our People Function, Legal teams, and external vendors to assess current practices and implement pragmatic improvements across multiple international jurisdictions. From overseeing pre‑employment right‑to‑work checks to managing complex international assignments, you will ensure BSI remains compliant and supportive of our global workforce.
Responsibilities- Global Mobility Strategy:
Lead the assessment of current practices to develop and implement pragmatic mobility policies and frameworks that align with BSI’s business objectives. - Assignment Coordination:
Manage end‑to‑end activities for short‑term and long‑term international assignments, as well as permanent international transfers. - Immigration & Compliance:
Oversee legal right‑to‑work, visa, and work permit processes globally, ensuring all record‑keeping is compliant throughout the employee lifecycle. - Legislative Monitoring:
Proactively monitor changes in local immigration regulations across our geographies to mitigate risks. - Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with key external partners, including relocation providers, immigration counsel, tax advisors, and screening vendors. - Expert Support:
Act as the subject‑matter expert (SME) escalation point for mobility and immigration queries, providing guidance to both managers and employees. - Resource Development:
Create communication materials and resources that anticipate employee needs and address frequently asked questions regarding global transitions.
- Proven Experience:
Demonstrable previous experience in global mobility and immigration management or operations. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of international employment law and immigration regulations. - Stakeholder Mastery:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different borders, cultures, and seniority levels. - Pragmatic Problem Solving: A demonstrated ability to use good judgment to solve problems in ambiguous, fast‑paced, or high‑demands environments.
- Technical & Change
Skills:
Experience managing mobility vendors and working with global HR systems, paired with effective change management skills for complex initiatives (experience with Workday advantageous). - Adaptability:
Comfort working within a matrix structure and a willingness to travel periodically as required.
