Deputy Manager (Nurse Qualified) – Dee View Neurological Centre

Our specialist neurological service supports people living with acquired brain injury, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, complex physical disabilities and other neurological conditions, often alongside palliation and evolving rehabilitation pathways. Every individual we support has a unique story, and every day brings meaningful, life‑changing work.

We are now seeking a Nurse Qualified Deputy Manager to join our established leadership team. This is a hands‑on clinical leadership role within a highly specialist environment, ideal for a nurse who is passionate about complex neurological care and ready to step into a senior leadership position where clinical governance, compassion and visibility truly matter.

About the Service
  • 42 beds across the main centre, plus a two‑bed supported house
  • 100% occupancy with local authority placements
  • A strong heritage of neurological and palliative care
  • A multidisciplinary approach including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and specialist support
Your Role as Deputy Manager

Working closely with the Service Director, you will provide strong clinical leadership and oversight, supporting safe, effective and person‑centred care across the service. You will be a visible clinical presence, supporting shifts when required and leading by example within a complex but incredibly rewarding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical governance and quality assurance across the centre
  • Oversight of complex nursing care and clinical decision‑making
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing nursing and care teams
  • Supporting audits, care planning and regulatory compliance
  • Working closely with families, professionals and external stakeholders

    Supporting learning from incidents, complaints and continuous improvement
  • Promoting best practice across all areas of specialist neurological care
Qualifications
  • A Registered Nurse (NMC) with up‑to‑date registration
  • Experienced within complex care or neurological services (essential)
  • Clinically confident in areas such as PEG care, epilepsy management, catheterisation, bowel regimes and complex physical needs
  • Comfortable working in a challenging but positive clinical environment
  • Experienced as a Deputy Manager, or ready to step confidently into that role

Experience in neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury is advantageous. Experience with tracheostomy care is desirable; however, full on‑site training and competency sign‑off can be provided.
