Occupational Therapist – Bon Accord Care

Location:

Various locations throughout Aberdeen

Duration:
Permanent, Full Time or Part Time hours available

Job Purpose

To work as an Occupational Therapist within Aberdeen City, delivering occupational therapy services in accordance with current legislation and Bon Accord Care's policies, procedures and standards/values. The post holder will be required to undertake a wide range of occupational therapy services and in the delivery of a responsive and person led service including facilitating hospital discharges, working with people who have complex needs who may need rehabilitation, enablement including assessment for adaptations, specialist equipment and risk assessment/management to provide a high standard of person‑centred care.

To promote multi‑disciplinary working with other disciplines aimed at supporting service users in a range of accommodation settings, including their own homes.

Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • PDA in supervision or willingness to work towards as role required
  • PVG registration
  • A full current UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes
Responsibilities
  • Promote dignity, respect, choice, independent living and work in an anti‑discriminatory way
  • Assess, plan and review and maintain and develop clear and accurate records including risk assessments and support plans
  • Communicate effectively and work in partnership with service users, staff, carers, families and internal/external professionals to achieve improved outcomes for service users
  • Work as part of a team, providing supervision, guidance and support to team members
  • Work autonomously and be accountable, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior manager
  • Manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Use a flexible and creative approach to manage resources effectively
  • Use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office
  • Challenge and improve practice
  • Promote safe moving and handling of both people and objects
