Assistant Accountant

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance function with a strong focus on the month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany accounting, working closely with the UK and US finance team and accommodating US time zone requirements to support group reporting. This role is well suited to a motivated, detail oriented individual looking to progress their career within a professional finance environment.

• Assist with the month end close process, including preparation of journals and supporting schedules
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of reconciling items
• Prepare and maintain intercompany reconciliations and reporting, working closely with group finance colleagues
• Support production of monthly management information and financial reports
• Assist with audit queries by providing supporting documentation and explanations
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies
• Handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion at all times
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls

• Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience of intercompany accounting is highly desirable
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a corporate or professional services environment
• Proven experience supporting month end accounting processes

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
