Purpose of the Role:
Texo Recruitment are currently sourcing a Finance Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the efficient and accurate running of the finance function within Texo Recruitment, ensuring timely payroll processing, invoicing, reporting, and credit control. The role plays a key part in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting cash flow management, and providing reliable financial information to assist commercial decision making within the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend and contribute to monthly recruitment finance meetings.
- Prepare, review and submit all weekly outsourced agency payroll, ensuring accuracy prior to processing.
- Process purchase ledger invoices.
- Raise, process and reconcile weekly sales invoices, including self-bill and external invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including gross margin reporting, or demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on this responsibility
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly HMRC reporting in line with deadlines.
- Maintain and update weekly finance reporting for senior management.
- Manage daily and weekly credit control activities, including monitoring aged debt and chasing overdue payments.
- Support cash flow forecasting and reporting.
- Carry out weekly AC checks against timesheets and Sicon reports.
- Manage and reconcile company credit cards.
- Management of daily banking and cash received.
- Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
Key Requirements:
- HNC/HND (or equivalent qualification) in Accounting & Finance.
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant role.
- Practical experience using Sage (essential).
- Experience with integrated finance systems (e.g. Sicon or similar ERP systems) desirable.
- Strong understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll and credit control processes.
- Experience supporting management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of HMRC reporting requirements, including CIS and intermediary returns.
- Strong Excel skills, including use of formulas, pivot tables and reporting tools.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team.
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to improve processes and systems.
