Position: Accounts Assistant (12 months Fixed Term)
Location: Aberdeen City

Contract Duration: 12 Months Fixed Term

Contract Type: Part Time (3 days per week)

Xodus supports clients with concept & front‑end engineering studies including FEED in electrification, CCUS, hydrogen, renewables, and conventional oil and gas over the entire project life cycle.

Promoting the Energy Transition across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Xodus drives sustainable change in the energy industry. We aim to strengthen our discipline engineering capability.

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the finance team with the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be organised, methodical, and confident working in a fast paced finance environment.

Primary Duties
  • Process invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with checking supplier statements, identifying discrepancies, and chasing missing invoices
  • Maintain the accounts payable inbox, including email distribution, invoice filing, coding, and data entry
  • Support the AP Supervisor during month‑end and other periodic processes
  • Assist with employee expense processing and reconciliation when required
Supplementary Duties
  • Post bank entries and perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist the wider accounts team with ad‑hoc tasks as needed
  • Ensure all accounts payable invoices and PO commitments comply with the internal authority matrix and are processed correctly and promptly
  • Process supplier, contractor, and payroll payments into the bank and Sage 200
  • Maintain fully reconciled and well‑supported petty cash and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
  • Support audit requests, including preparing documentation and providing timely responses
Requirements
  • Background in finance, either through formal education or relevant work experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with both internal stakeholders and external partners
