A global insurance business is recruiting for a newly created Deputy Treasurer position that is crucial to supporting senior leadership with strategic initiatives. The role involves managing long-term cash forecasting, contributing to corporate finance projects, and enhancing treasury operations. This is an essential position for the clients growth, especially as they actively pursue mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategies. The Deputy Treasurer is expected to lead the development of comprehensive 12-month rolling cash flow forecasts across various regions and facilitate weekly cash reporting to optimize business cash collections and manage client payment terms.
The position requires delivering monthly reporting, which includes reconciling financial models and conducting variance analysis. The Deputy Treasurer will be tasked with supporting reporting needs for external stakeholders like lenders and investors, and overseeing working capital reporting with a focus on understanding DSO/DPO impacts. Additionally, the role involves selecting and implementing a Treasury Management System within the first year. The Deputy Treasurer will support debt origination and management activities, including lender engagement, due diligence, and ensuring covenant compliance, while also identifying opportunities to improve banking, collections, payments, and working capital processes.
Candidates should have a professional qualification in Accounting or Treasury and experience with Adaptive Planning, particularly for treasury and cash flow modeling. A minimum of ten years progressive experience in finance or treasury roles is required, alongside hands-on experience implementing a Treasury Management System. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment and possess strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in managing teams, especially those offshore or remote, will be crucial, as will the willingness to undertake occasional international travel.
