Principal Geotechnical Engineer – Offshore Wind / O&G – UK

Opportunity for Principal / Lead Geotechnical – Offshore/ Marine, specialising in the design of major offshore wind farm foundations. Must have geotechnical experience in offshore engineering, ideally foundations for offshore wind or O&G.

• Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Structural Engineering, Geology, or Engineering Geology.
• Experience in offshore/marine engineering – offshore wind and/or oil & gas.
• Experience in geotechnical calculations.
• Offshore foundation design experience (e.g., O&G or wind or marine).
• Minimum 7 years experience, with a relevant engineering education and predominantly worked within offshore geotechnical engineering.

• Knowledge of offshore foundation geotechnics, structures, and dynamics (wind/O&G).
• Experience with foundation design software (e.g., GRLWEAP, OPile, PLAXIS, LPile).
• GIS and geophysical skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or intent to become Chartered.
• Ability to team‑lead and mentor engineers.
• Experience with advanced calculation models and FE modelling.

Working in close relationship with clients, contractors, and developers – projects vary from detailed design of offshore wind farms in the UK and Europe, and may include conceptual studies through detailed design, monitoring and assessment.

Lead, participate and possibly manage projects, collaborate with other departments and specialists, and contribute to continuous innovation in the geotechnical field.

Maintain good communication and organisational skills, manage daily demands of a multidisciplinary design team, and demonstrate leadership while actively developing both technical resources and professional development.
