Master Teacher of Science/CTE Health Science
Northern State University’s Center for Statewide E‑Learning invites applications for the Master Teacher of Science/CTE Health Science position. Working from the teacher’s community in South Dakota or from the NSU campus, the teacher will design and deliver high‑quality instructional materials, provide feedback and academic assistance, and connect with students across the state to deliver benchmark science education to all SD high‑school students.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deliver instructional materials and courses aligned with state science standards.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to students via online platforms.
- Manage courses to address unmet local needs and ensure consistent learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with the E‑Learning Principal and other faculty on curriculum development.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the growth of the CTE Health Science career cluster.
- Master’s degree in a related field OR enrollment in a master’s program with at least 3 years of high‑school teaching experience.
- Current South Dakota teaching certificate (or eligibility for licensure).
- Residency in South Dakota.
- Expert knowledge of science content standards.
- Strong instructional and communication skills, with experience in online teaching preferred.
- For candidates without the CTE Health Science endorsement, a willingness to obtain the endorsement.
Ten‑month term beginning August 1, 2026; 100 % appointment; regular full‑time hours (8 a.m.–5 p.m., 40 hrs/week). The position is Open Until Filled
