Job Purpose/About the Role
To workəri as part of a team in planning and delivery of effective Out of School Care provision to meet the individual needs of children and their families, ensuring their wellbeing and improving play experiences and outcomes for all service users.

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non‑members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first full month’s salary payment.
Requirements- SVQ Level 2 in Playwork, SSCYP or CCLD (SQFF Level
6), or demonstrable equivalent experience and knowledge.
- PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland Protection of Vulnerable Groups check) – prior to appointment.
- Registration with Scottish Social Services Council – within 6 months after appointment.
- Deliver a high‑quality Out of School Care service.
- Work directly with school‑aged children.
- Plan for and assess children's learning and play experiences.
- Relate to children, parents, carers and other professional colleagues.
- Manage and maximise resources.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Use a variety of ICT packages including email, internet and Microsoft applications (Word and Excel).
