Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Grampian for 2 whole-time equivalent Locum Consultant Urological Surgeons to join our existing team of eleven Consultants at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The contract will be for 12 months.
The Urology Department within NHS Grampian is a progressive and welcoming team based in a major University teaching hospital and with strong links to the academic department within Aberdeen University. The department provides regional major pelvic cancer, robotic and stone services to the north of Scotland as well as core Urology to the population of NHS Grampian. The team have consistently lead the way on the development of treatment options for patients across the north of Scotland and in recent years have introduced robotic surgery, a fixed-site lithotripsy service and HOLEP.
Applicants should have wide knowledge of and experience in all major branches of the specialty including core Urology in order to support the work of the existing team.
The department are looking for candidates to be forward thinking and collaborative in their approach to the role and the development of the service across both Grampian and the North of Scotland.
Responsibilities- Support the work of the existing Urology team and contribute to the delivery of regional major pelvic cancer, robotic and stone services as well as core Urology.
- Demonstrate forward thinking and collaborative practice in the development of the service across Grampian and the North of Scotland.
- Uphold high standards of clinical care and teaching within the department and maintain professional development.
- Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).
- Wide knowledge of and experience in all major branches of the specialty including core Urology.
