We have an opportunity for a Trainee Draughtsperson to join our expanding UK team on a permanent staff basis, located in our Aberdeen office. This includes creating Drawings and sketches for studies, tenders and projects in the Offshore Energy market across Deepocean’s European, Middle East and African operations. You’ll become part of highly skilled small group of CAD draughtspersons who deliver a high standard of work, you’ll be fully supported throughout along the way.
KeyAreas of Responsibility
General:
- In all phases of projects, due consideration shall be given to the safety and occupational health of personnel, the Environment and company assets, and managers are to ensure that all work is performed in conformance with HSEQS requirements set out by company and client and applicable statutory regulations.
Role Specific:
- Ensure that all Draughting Standards are met with guidance for all appropriate codes, regulations and standards
- Liaise with Project Engineers, Senior Draughtspersons and Technical Manager Draughting to fulfil project draughting.
- Deliver Drawings/Sketches on time to satisfy client and project requirements.
- Mentoring from Senior Draughtspersons.
- On site training and development.
- Perform Drawings/Sketches according to the UK Draughting Procedure and in a safe and accurate manner.
- Delivery of commercially and technically optimized solutions that are aligned with the client and company expectations.
- Develop and gain experience across a wide variety of draughting tasks.
- Keen attention to detail and solving challenges.
- Tenders, studies and Feed activities.
- IRM – inspection repair and maintenance.
- Field layouts.
- Drawing support for vessel based operations.
- Opportunities to contribute to all phases of project delivery from tender to detailed design.
- Drawings/Sketches are completed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner in line with contractual requirements.
- Commitment to training.
- Excellent working relationships are developed and maintained with clients, Deep Ocean colleagues and suppliers.
- Actively adhere to company systems, procedures and computer software.
- Learning and applying industry-standard draughting techniques, codes and practices.
- Support the wider design team.
- Teamwork.

- Good verbal and written communication.
- Take initiative.
- Flexible.
- Higher Education in relevant subjects.
- HNC preferred but not essential.
- No prior industry experience required.
- Full training will be provided.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD / Inventor is advantageous.
- Technical Manager - Draughting.
