Position: Buyer - (FTC)
Location: Aberdeen City

Job Purpose

The Buyer is responsible for providing purchasing support to the vessels ensuring that all work for Technip UK Ltd is provided in accordance with Company approved standards and governance.

Job Description
  • Provide sourcing support for Vessels as required, focused on offering cost effective solutions and, where appropriate, alternative products
  • Maintain good communication with the Requestor to ensure that they are appraised of the Requisition status
  • Critical review of requests for quotation, requisitions and specifications received to ensure they are correctly completed in accordance the governance, procedures and policies
  • Selection of approved vendors and consolidation of tail spend orders with a focus on channeling spend through our procurement house/frame agreements, ensuring reduction of transaction costs
  • Negotiation / review of quotations to ensure best price and product is procured
  • Progress Requisition s to ensure timely delivery and minimise Requisition backlog
  • Work to set deadlines and be responsible for own time management with regular feedback on activity to the Department Head and to the Customer
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behavior
  • Deal with queries relating to delivery of requisitioned items e.g. Invoice queries, short deliveries etc.
  • Compliance with QHSES requirements
  • Increase other Department awareness of the Purchasing function
  • Customer focused striving for excellent service delivery performance
You are meant for this job if:
  • Sound knowledge & experience in Oil & Gas procurement is mandatory
  • Familiarity with marine spare parts, OEMs, and global supply chains
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced, global operations environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must work collaboratively with all members of the Purchasing team and other Departments within the Company
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Someone who is adaptable to change and a fast pace environment.
  • Maintain awareness of, and compliance with the Management System procedures (GOPS) which directly affect the work undertaken
  • Customer focused striving for excellent service delivery performance
  • Ability to deal effectively with deadlines within a fast paced environenment
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to negotiate commercial solutions effectively for our customers
  • Engaged and proactive in effective Supplier Management
Nice to have:
  • Experience with ERP system
    -SAP (S4/HANA)
  • Experience / knowledge in vessel procurement
