VP of Commercial Strategy

As VP of Commercial Strategy, you will lead the development, execution, and continuous refinement of revenue and sales strategies that drive profitability and market share. WhatYou’ll Do Lead Commercial & Revenue Strategy
- Lead portfolio‑wide commercial strategy across pricing, forecasting, distribution, segmentation, and sales planning.
- Analyze market conditions, competitive positioning, and performance indicators to identify opportunities and threats for each property.
- Oversee RMS utilization and ensure revenue management best practices are consistently applied across all locations.
- Guide OTA channel strategy including commission management, promotional planning, and campaign execution.
- Drive portfolio‑wide initiatives in pricing, forecasting, distribution, segmentation, and sales planning.
- Develop comprehensive local sales plans for each hotel, including on‑site visits to assess market dynamics and support local sales efforts.
- Identify target accounts and market segments to drive group, corporate, and contract revenue.
- Evaluate account production, yield performance, and CRM data to optimize account strategies.
- Serve as the primary liaison with brand sales, marketing, and revenue management teams.
- Represent the portfolio in brand initiatives and ensure alignment with brand programs, tools, and commercial strategies.
- Manage travel consortia platform participation, including advertising decisions, commission structures, and RFP submissions.
- Contribute to annual revenue budget development and lead interim forecasting processes.
- Provide clear reporting, insights, and presentations on commercial performance to internal stakeholders and property ownership groups.
Travel: This position requires an estimated 25% travel annually to hotel locations and the Aberdeen, SD corporate office.
What We’re Looking For- Minimum 3 years of experience in multi‑property hotel revenue management, sales, or commercial strategy.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting, pricing, distribution systems, and channel management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly collaborative, data‑driven, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common business applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5+ years).
Preferred but not required:
Familiarity with IDeaS:
Elevate, Kalibri, STR/CoStar, OTA Management, Medallia, Sabre Syn Xis.
Physical Demands: Requires being seated for a majority of the time in an office, a car/vehicle/plane while traveling from hotel to hotel. Must be able to travel by plane and drive to hotel locations. Must be able to work long hours when necessary to complete projects assigned to meet deadlines or in the event of a hotel need.
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year.
