Food Pantry​/Truck Driver

Ensure pantry shelves are stocked, sorted, cleaned, and to drive our truck/van for collection of donations for Pantry, Thrift Store, or other Corps programs.

• Inventory food from the Food Bank and other pantry donations accordingly.
• Ensure pantry shelves are organized.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Drive truck/van to pick up donations as scheduled.
• Distribute donations to proper departments as required.
• Oversee loading/unloading of truck, ensuring the safety of personnel and volunteers.
• Interact with donors in a positive and friendly manner.
• Utilize forklift as directed or needed.
• Driving is an essential function of the position.
• All other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

• Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
• Ability to utilize forklift and pallet jack.
• Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
• Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong independent judgement.

Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army. Driver's License, Valid DOT, and Forklift Certification Training will be provided.

The work environment is in vehicles and areas with near moving mechanical parts and loud noise. The environmental conditions include exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
