Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a well-paying travel assignment in Aberdeen, South Dakota. This role offers night shifts with a true rotating schedule in an acute care hospital setting. The position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to float to multiple units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult telemetry patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and update care plans accordingly
• Float to Med/Surg and Pediatrics units as required (Peds assignments only if comfortable)
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation
• Educate and support patients and families with compassionate, professional care

Requirements

• Active South Dakota RN license or Compact license (in hand, required)
• Minimum 1–2 years of Telemetry / Acute Care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg (Peds only if comfortable with that population)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• No prior Avera or Sanford permanent employment
• Flu documentation required (no personal/medical declinations; religious declinations reviewed by Avera Health)

Assignment Details

• Pay: $66/hour
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (True rotating days/nights)
• Schedule: 3×12s
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekends/Holidays: Every other
• Setting: Acute Care / Telemetry Unit
