Certified Nurse Assistant, Full Time at Bethesda Home Of Aberdeen
Position SummaryThe primary purpose of this position is to provide routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, and current regulations, policies, and guidelines.
ShiftFlexible schedule available: full‑time, day or evening shift hours, 8‑ and 12‑hour shifts. Every other weekend and holiday required.
Job Requirements- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (must be at least 16 years of age). - Experience:
None required; on‑job training provided. - License/Certification:
Current active CNA license or willingness to obtain a license upon hire (paid training and certification available).
- Perform assigned day‑to‑day nursing assistant functions.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Follow specific tasks as instructed in daily assignments and established nursing procedures.
- Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
- Observe and report resident conditions and changes to the nursing staff or appropriate supervisor.
- Familiarize with resident daily needs to personalize care; review care plans daily for updates.
- Record all data, including food/fluid intake, eating habit changes, temperature, pulse, respirations, bowel records, etc., on the computer or other record systems.
- Maintain a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to resident welfare.
- Perform direct resident care such as dental care, dressing, hair and nail care, bowel and bladder care, repositioning, transporting, bathing, specimen collection, and other treatments as instructed.
- Ensure all nursing cares are provided in privacy.
- Respond to call lights promptly.
- Keep residents dry and clean; change gowns, clothing, and linens when necessary.
- Maintain beds: change linens, keep linens tight to avoid wrinkles.
- Cooperate with inter‑departmental and facility personnel to maintain nursing services.
- Prepare resident rooms for new admissions.
- Store resident clothing as instructed.
- Encourage ADL skill independence.
- Assist residents to walk with or without self‑help devices as instructed.
- Provide daily range‑of‑motion exercises and perform restorative procedures as instructed.
- Prepare residents for meals; assist with feeding and post‑meal care.
- Keep water pitchers clean and filled.
- Serve snacks between meals and before bedtime.
- Check rooms for food articles and unauthorized items.
Starting Pay: $15.40 per hour for uncertified CNAs; wage depends on experience and certification.
Day shift position eligible for a sign‑on bonus.
