Position: Travel Occupational Therapist Job

Embark on a meaningful journey as an Occupational Therapist in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where your clinical expertise will empower individuals to regain independence and quality of life. In this role, you’ll collaborate with hospitals, clinics, and community partners to design personalized therapy plans, evaluate motor and cognitive function, and remove barriers that limit everyday activities. Each assessment opens the doorway to confidence, safety, and participation in work, school, and leisure.

This assignment blends hands‑on OT practice with a chance to explore a region known for its open skies, friendly neighborhoods, and a pace that respects balance. Aberdeen’s welcoming community offers a strong healthcare network, a growing arts scene, and proximity to outdoor recreation—from tranquil lakes to scenic drives through rolling prairie landscapes. For those who crave broader horizons, the assignment can provide opportunities to work across multiple locations in the U.S., expanding your professional reach while maintaining the support you expect from a dedicated travel partner.

Working in Aberdeen means a stable, affordable living with low commute times and a tight‑knit healthcare ecosystem. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team that values evidence‑based practice and patient‑centered care, with access to state‑of‑the‑art equipment and robust alignment with inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric services. The region’s communities celebrate resilience and family‑oriented values, enabling you to build lasting therapeutic relationships. For broader exploration, your assignment can extend into other U.S. sites, offering varied clinical settings—from rural clinics to urban‑adjacent facilities—while keeping the same level of support, safety, and consistent scheduling.

The local lifestyle features easy access to outdoor recreation, museums, seasonal events, and community gatherings, making every week fresh and engaging. South Dakota’s expansive skies and welcoming towns create a backdrop where professional purpose and personal well‑being reinforce one another.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, goal setting aligned with payer criteria, development of tailored treatment plans, and adaptive equipment recommendations. You’ll guide patients through restoration of activities of daily living, fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing strategies, and cognitive retraining as needed. You’ll document progress, communicate with families and caregivers, coordinate discharge planning, and participate in care conferences.

This role offers substantial opportunities for professional growth: take part in specialized programs, expand your manual therapy skills, pursue certifications, and assume mentorship or lead clinician responsibilities as you gain experience. The compensation package is designed to recognize your expertise, including a competitive weekly pay range of $2,000 to $2,140, with guaranteed 36 hours per week and an assignment duration measured in weeks, beginning around the Start Date of 12/15/2025.

In addition, you’ll receive a sign‑on bonus and housing assistance to simplify relocation, plus extension opportunities to continue your impact beyond the initial term. Our travel program also includes comprehensive support, with 24/7 assistance from our team to troubleshoot scheduling, travel arrangements, or clinical questions, ensuring you’re never alone on the road. We emphasize continuity of care for patients and continuity of support for you, from onboarding to ongoing professional development.

Our organization is built on empowering our clinicians, fostering an environment where career advancement is attainable and staff well‑being is a priority. We champion collaborative teamwork, transparent feedback loops, and access to continuing education resources that help you stay at the forefront of occupational therapy practice. You’ll benefit from a culture that respects autonomy while providing structured mentorship and peer learning, ensuring you feel supported whether you’re in a hospital, clinic, or community setting.
