Mechanical Design Engineer

A world class medical device supplier with a very lucrative product range is rapidly expanding the organisation. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Significant investment has enabled the company to acquire new businesses and grow the company brand worldwide. The product range is established throughout the UK, Asia, America, Mexico, Europe and more, with plans to branch out further next year.

• Product Design and development of medical devices from concept to market release
• Compiles DHF (product design, specifications, DFMEA, design testing, verification, validation, usability)
• Lead's project actions in UK and Manufacturer (design transfer)
• Provides engineering requirements for ECOs
• Maintains allocated legacy DHFs
• Verification and validation of components and assemblies (ISIR and appropriate testing, as required)
• Records all formal and relevant informal engineering information in the PLM system
• Modification/amendment of new/existing drawings in accordance with design standards
• Other reasonable duties which you may be requested to perform from time to time by your manager

• Problem solving techniques (i.e. DFMEA / Risk Analysis)
• Experience in compilation of usability engineering file
• Experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing environment
• Design requirements of extruded/moulded parts
• Understanding of ISO
  13485:2003/MED DEV 93/42/EEC and/or FDA regulations
• Experience of working with a Product Life-Cycle Management System and/or working with an ERP system is highly desirable
• Bill Of Materials creation and management
