ROLE PURPOSEThe Program Manager will apply leadership and innovation by developing and enhancing our programs. This position will make a difference by meeting the needs of our clients, funders, and regulators. The manager inspires excellence and purpose into the program by planning, organizing, staffing, and monitoring activities that ensure key targets are achieved.
Our Outreach and Community Inclusion programs help individuals access services and build community connections, while supporting them to develop life skills. We work one‑on‑one with service users to encourage them to identify, work toward, and achieve their goals so they can build greater independence and more active community engagement. Community‑based outreach supports may include employment, housing, building healthy relationships and pursuing social/recreational opportunities.
This position will provide assistive outreach support to residents of the Connective Support Society’s programs referred by Community Living British Columbia to enable their adjustment to, and success with life in the community.
STATUSExempt. This position is open to applicants of all genders.
HOURS (40 hours per week)Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1700.
Please note: This role will require you to work flexible hours based on program needs and have an on call component.

- Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of Programs or their designate.
- Participates as a member of Connective’s management team.
- Liaises with government and community agencies, volunteers, and members of the general public.
ACCOUNTABILITIES Administration
- Implements and promulgates all policies and procedures, including developing appropriate manuals, brochures and handbooks.
- Hires, supervises, evaluates, transfers and terminates staff and/or contractors as necessary to fulfill the program goal in accord with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 1936‑11 and the Personnel Polices of Connective.
- Implements a system of staff and volunteer orientation, supervision, in‑service training and evaluation.
- Ensures all appropriate daily, monthly, and annual documentation of resource staff and contractor’s files and records are maintained.
- Accepts responsibility for the daily and monthly financial and administrative aspects of the programs.
- Makes sure effective, inclusive support programs are designed and maintained.
- Supports the overall program strategic direction.
- Liaises with other Connective’s staff, especially regarding potential referrals.
- Facilitates person‑centered planning opportunities for staff and service users.
- Develops related program opportunities, available to the individuals in the community.
- Ensures that funder’s guidelines, based on all agreed goals and including all steps or success measurement and timelines, are completed.
- Maintains effective working relationships with related community services, government/stakeholders and agencies.
