The salary range for this position is CAD $35.27 - $44.05 / hour.
Job SummaryWe currently have an exciting opportunity for Casual – Cardiology Technologists (Diploma) to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre in Abbotsford, B.C. The role supports prompt and professional cardiovascular testing and monitoring.
OverviewUnder general supervision, performs techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) monitoring. Performs related procedures, including scanning, analyzing, and interpreting data for use by physicians. Under the direction of a physician may assist with pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
Responsibilities- Perform ECG, stress and holter monitor testing and ABP testing.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
- Scan and analyze ECG, stress and holter monitor test strips, and summarize results.
- Assist with pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation under supervision.
- Enter patient test information into Meditech EHR.
- Maintain appropriate files and reports per department policies.
- Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and equipment operation to students and new staff.
- Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items as needed.
- Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and departments.
- Contribute to development, implementation and updates of department policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education and Experience: Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certification: Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
