Radiological Technologist, Interventional Angiography – Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre

Salary: CAD $38.08 - $47.55 / hour

Position Available To: 9/7/2025

We are hiring for a Relief Full Time Radiological Technologist, Interventional Angiography at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others?

Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor and Site Coordinator, the Radiological Technologist practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice, utilizing a client‑ and family‑centered care model and the vision and values of Fraser Health. The role performs interventional/angiography procedures and diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental policy and procedure, observing safe radiation protection practices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform interventional and angiography procedures, completing requisitions, entering patient information, positioning patients, performing venipuncture for contrast media injections, operating imaging equipment and archiving data.
  • Assist the Radiologist during body and neuroangiography procedures and interventional cases as scrub support.
  • Monitor patients for contrast media reactions or other emergent situations, performing CPR if required.
  • Ensure accurate image studies, confirm patient identification, request previous studies, and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Facilitate workflow by checking requisitions, regulating inpatient examination time, and arranging porters.
  • Conduct quality control duties, including scheduling equipment tests, recording results, and reporting issues.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs and conduct audits.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, set up examination trays manage supplies, and notify the Supervisor of shortages.
  • Demonstrate procedures and equipment usage to staff and new employees.
  • Enter data into radiology and hospital information systems.
  • Respond to inquiries from other clinical areas and refer concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Analyze workload data, compile reports, and recommend improvements to the Director.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations such as Fire, WHMIS, and Infection Control.
  • Participate in research and special projects in collaboration with the Supervisor and other health care professionals.
  • Arrange maintenance and repairs for equipment.
  • Immediately report unsafe situations to the Supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education, Training &

Experience:

Certification with the CAMRT. Minimum of two (2) years recent related experience in interventional radiography or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general radiology, angiography and interventional procedures.
  • Knowledge of CAMRT standards and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • Evidence‑based practice knowledge for the modality.
  • Safe work procedures with imaging equipment.
  • Skill in IR techniques and equipment use.
  • Broad knowledge of PACS and radiology information systems.
  • Knowledge of research processes and methodology.
  • Effective communication with clients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Planning and prioritizing workload.
  • IV therapy and CPR techniques.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Teaching, demonstration, facilitation, coaching and mentoring.
  • Conflict resolution facilitation.
  • Multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Computer skills with current applications.
