THE ROLE

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and meaningful financial reporting while supporting operational and strategic initiatives across the business

This is a hands-on, high-impact Senior Accountant role within a lean finance team. You will lead core accounting functions, support continuous improvement initiatives, and act as a trusted partner to operations and leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Deliver variance analysis with actionable insights to support decision-making

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Reconcile and manage fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments

Support inventory costing, inventory revaluations, and complex transaction recording

Oversee grower payables, payroll-related entries, and regulatory remittances (EHT, WCB, PST, GST)

Liaise with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits

Conduct technical accounting research as required

Partner closely with operations to understand inventory flow and warehouse processes

Identify process enhancements to improve efficiency and controls

Support ERP master data integrity and financial system accuracy

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

CPA designated (or actively pursuing completion)

3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong experience with month-end, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

Experience in manufacturing and/or food production environments preferred

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with multiple data sources

ERP experience (Dynamics NAV 365, Power BI, ADP considered assets)

Curious, proactive, and process-oriented

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully onsite environment
